The first Keramos meeting of 2007 will take place on January 23 at 6pm in 218 Ceramics.
The Lab Library on the 3rd floor of Ceramics is open every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 7pm to 8pm. If you are taking MSE 307, then we have some good reference books for you.
The first Keramos General Meeting of Fall '06 is on October 21 at 6pm in 218 Ceramics.

The first MatSE Study Time is going on right now. It is awesome, and it will happen every Sunday between 7pm and 9pm. We meet in the group study area at the west wing of the 4th floor of Grainger. Every student taking MatSE courses is personally invited by Keramos.

From our President Julie Wong:
I wanted to let you all know that we have returned from the Annual Keramos Convocation at the International Conference on Advanced Ceramics & Composites. Our chapter was awarded the Sapphire Award (equivalent to 3rd best chapter)! We have a plaque that I'm going to try and put up in the Keramos display case on the 2nd floor of the Ceramics Bldg.
We also entered the Mug Drop and Putter Contests. Unfortunately, we did not win either of the contests but Illinois did win the Best Looking Putter Award!
There will be a general meeting coming up along with new officer elections, so think about running for a position.
Movie Night! We'll be watching whatever you guys want to watch at 7pm on Friday, December 2 in 218 Ceramics.
Hungry? Enjoy delicious food? Come to the Keramos Bake Sale.We have brownies and other delicious grub on the first floor of Engineering Hall on this Thursday, December 1, from 11am to 3pm.

The third general meeting will be this Thursday (11/17) in 218 Ceramics tentatively at 6pm.
About Keramos
The 2005-2006 Illinois Keramos Chapter consists of 46 undergraduate members, 6 graduate members and 3 faculty. Over the fall semester, we proudly initiated 7 new undergraduate members!
The chapter is organized into committees to lead activities: EOH, Mug Drop, Library, Peer Outreach, Review Sessions, Alumni Relations, Fundraising, Social and Webmaster. The formation of these committees also established committee leaders, a specific name to associate with the responsibility of that committee. Committee leaders meet frequently outside of the general meetings to organize their committees and give progress reports to the president. This year a special project was created specifically for the new initiates. Each initiate constructed the Keramos plaque from traditional ceramic materials as an opportunity to work with ceramics and meet their fellow initiates.
